Here is an opportunity for you to try focusing on creating music in an improvised song creation. For this experience, let’s use the lyrics from your song collage as a starting point so you can focus on music creation. Baker (2015) described this type of improvised song creation as lyrical narration/instrumental songwriting (LNIS). According to Baker, “LNIS begins with a narration (lyrics) before creating an improvisation based on the story or feeling expressed in the narration” (2015, p. 137).
