Module 3: Managing and Organizing Research
Doctoral Research in Arts Administration
activity 3.1:
Chicago Manual of Style citation
Instructions: The Chicago Manual of Style Citation activity offers you practice formatting citations in the Chicago Manual of Style’s “Author-Date” style.
It builds on skills you developed in the first two modules of this course, identifying the various types of research materials used in arts administration research and using our local systems to retrieve materials. As you write class assignments, articles, conference papers, and eventually your dissertation, citing your research in this way will become second nature. Here is a chance to familiarize yourself with the style if it is new to you, or quickly refresh your practice if you use it frequently.
First, “Make a copy” of this Google Doc to save it to your own Google Drive. Then, proceed to complete the worksheet. To hand it in, share your completed version with kmhink0@g.uky.edu and submit through Canvas.
Citations to Format:
1. Refer to the Chicago Quick Guide for Author-Date style. Which of two possible citations for the same work is formatted in the Chicago Author-Date style?
