Foreword
Welcome!
New Arts Admin doctoral candidates:
This textbook is for you! I’m really excited to be sharing—in a full textbook format—some of my favorite research workshop activities, developed specifically for the University of Kentucky’s doctoral Arts Administration program.
I have had the pleasure of meeting UK AAD PhD students through the program’s summer mini-course for the past 5 years, and this textbook is a stand-alone compilation of the workshop series I’ve taught each summer through the university’s online course management system, Canvas. You are free to use this text alongside the Canvas modules, or to remix and reread its contents in any way that helps you prepare for your PhD research at UK.
I’m always excited to meet a new group of PhD students in the arts, and hope I’ll get to know you well during your time here. Please feel free to contact me any time with your library or research questions (or any questions), and I hope you enjoy this text!
Best, Karyn
